Lee Addy is currently
regarded as one of the best up and coming defenders in world football. At only
20 years old he represented his country at the 2010 FIFA World Cup 4 times,
missing the quarter final with Uruguay purely through suspension. He made his debut for Ghana at the age of 19,
and shone against Argentina in a friendly match, which drew a host of interest
from across Europe. Prior to this he had played 4 games for Ghana at the
African Nations Cup, including the lost final to Egypt.
At the age of 20 he moved
to Red Star Belgrade after being voted the best defender within the Ghanaian
Premier League, and has since seen his reputation continue to grow as he has
excelled in both domestic and European competitions.
His versatility at
both left and centre back has seen him become first choice left back for his
club, Serbian giants Red Star Belgrade, and for his country Ghana, as a central
defender. He has been an ever present for both since 2010.
