Joe Carter headed north with Charlton's U18's as they took on Crewe Alexandra. Joe was pushed up to left midfield from his usual left back role, complimenting his natural attacking qualities, and notched up an assist in a busy first half. He reverted back to his normal position for the 2nd half as Charlton ran out 3-2 winners, with Joe once again impressing in both positions.
A shaky defensive display saw Barnet's U18's over run against a strong Brentford team in a 7-2 defeat, but the bright sparks going forward were provided by 2MB International Soccer's Mauro Vilhete and Kieron Weeks. Both players put in strong performances, but Barnet's defensive lapses proved to be their un-doing.
West Ham's Sam Cowler had both a busy and successful week for the reserves and U18's as he was on the winning side on each occasion. The reserve game took place on Tuesday night as Sam played a key role in an emphatic 5-0 win over QPR, which was followed up by an appearance for the U18's in a 5-1 win against Middleborough. The match against Boro' wasn't as one sided as the score may suggest and Sam was required to make a string of key saves to keep his side out of touching distance of what proved to be a strong Boro' side.
Miles Smith, Wycombe's ever attacking right back, was the unfortunate loser in a 3-1 defeat to Peterborough's U18s. Miles, who has already come up against arguably one of the best left wingers in his age group when Wycombe took on Chelsea at the beginning of the season, put in a performance that warranted more than the score line suggested and was happy with his own perfomance.
‘It was a tough game, but I was pleased with my performance. This year is a big year for me and hopefully, if I put in more performances like that, I'll give myself the best chance of pushing on.'
Another exciting weekend looks ahead as all of 2MB International Soccer Management's players will be involved with their respected clubs.
